Yummy American football player meets quirky British teacher in this hilariously adorable new RomCom from R.S. Grey. I LOVED Candace & Logan. So much. Their chemistry and attraction was instant and things only got hotter from there. Candace is just the cutest little British crumpet but she’s also an over the top stone-cold weirdo and I loved that Logan just rolled with it and loved her more for it. Logan has the protective nature of an alpha, but the gentleness good humor of a beta and honestly is there a better combination? I also loved that this explored the sacrifices that come with fame and that celebrities are actually people who have feelings and deserve privacy and boundaries just like the rest of us.
This one is a new R.S. Grey of mine and I’m already looking forward to a re-read or future audiobook listen!
Thank you so much to Rachel & InkSlinger for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review. The Trouble with Quarterbacks is out TODAY.
Romance readers: Have you read He’s a Brute by Chloe Liese yet?? If not, get on it because the second book in the series, She’s a Spitfire comes out June 24th!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love a good romance series! This one has all the makings of a great romance but it’s special. Nairne & Zed are educated and intellectual and if I’m being honest, I was afraid it was going to be a bit stiff or stuffy for my liking. I stand corrected! These characters developed so nicely and I ended up really liking them and can’t wait to see where else their story takes us! Also, BIG ups to Chloe for giving us a feisty and strong female lead who embraces her sexuality and a male lead who empowers and encourages her to do so.
An unfortunate incident which involves a cake and a bit of a scuttle forces First Son, Alex and Henry, Prince of Wales to make nice and fake a bromance. But soon the bromance turns to romance and both men are completely infatuated with each other, overwhelmed by their feelings and the pressures of their titles, and completely in over their heads as they try to navigate it all.
Honestly, the description of this book had me at “First Son” and “Prince” so I really didn’t need to hear anymore to know I would love it. What I wasn’t expecting was to be completely and utterly enamored with Alex and Henry and their adorable love story, hilarious wit and charm, and so hot I had to fan myself love scenes. One moment I’m reading some of the most beautiful love letters and tearing up over how perfect these two are together, and the next I’m cracking up because I’m still remembering phrases like “Bitch McConnell” & “you Hufflepuff ass bitch.”
It’s not every day that I want to re-read a book immediately after I finish it, but here we are. I smile every time I think about this book and I’m already recommending it to the 2-5 people who haven’t read it yet. Casey, how in the hell is this your first novel and when can we get more??
