Review: The Happy Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a perfect follow-up to The Friend Zone! I knew I was going to love Sloan’s story but I had no clue I would love it even more than TFZ! The fact that Sloan & Jason’s meet cute starts with an adorable and mischievous pup made me smile immediately and I was hooked from page one. Sloan might be my new favorite heroine because this chick is strong AF, communicates her needs, knows how to say no, and admits and acknowledges when she’s wrong, or out of line, or having a moment. And Jason??? Omg I just want to pinch his cheeks…both sets, of course. He is the damn sweetest, so patient, and even though he royally effs up a time or two, he had the best intentions and his heart was in the right place. Man guys, Abby really nailed it with this one and I am so stinking excited to see what she comes up with next!

Thank you SO much to the author, netgalley, and Forever for the e-arc. I’ve already pre-ordered my physical copy and you should too!The Happy Ever After Playlist hits shelves 4/14!

👸🏼🐝 Review: Scoring Wilder by R.S. Grey

Okay my friend, Jordan has been trying to get me to read this one for AWHILE and I’m so glad I finally listened to her because I LOVED IT!

✅ Young Adult

✅ Male & Female soccer stars

✅ Drama but still good communication between the two MC’s.

✅ Lots of steamy scenes.

✅ Fun and sassy heroine that takes zero shit.

Liam & Kinsley are so fun and cute and I loved rooting for them even when their relationship was slightly forbidden. This is one of Rachel’s earlier titles so if you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend! Available on Amazon, KU, and Audible Escape!

Review: Yours Truly, Cammie by S.J. Sylvis

Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Steam Level: 🔥🔥

Is this account for reviewing books? Because it’s been so long, I forgot. But oh man, have I got a good one for you. Yours Truly, Cammie written by one of my favorite authors AND people, is just the thing I needed to get me out of my quarantine mini slump!

Cammie refuses to get into a relationship with a Marine. She’s experienced first hand the heartbreak and turmoil that can come with being close to someone who defends their country. So when the hunky Marine she treated in the ER turns out to be her new neighbor, she tries her hardest to steer clear. Luke infuriates and annoys her, but he also makes her laugh and she can’t stop thinking about him. When she finally decides to let her guard down, she finds out Luke has been hiding something from her and she’s immediately reminded why she vowed to never get involved with a soldier. It hurts too much.

So after watching so many effed up couples on Love is Blind, Cammie and Luke are kind of everything to me right now. Sammi’s writing is fun, and fresh, and so easy to get swept away in. I loved this story so much and the new cover for this book? GORGEOUS. I love a book that has the perfect balance of serious and silly. This was such a great escape from the reality of everything that’s going on right now and I highly recommend you check it out! It’s available on Amazon & KU!

Sales Blitz: The Allure of Dean Harper by R.S. Grey

Subject: You’re a flippin’ idiot

Good morning my dear, naive friend,

I hope you’re enjoying a breakfast of regret and sorrow.

Why?

Because you sent me to work for Dean Harper, aka a control freak in a tailor-made suit. Sure he owns the trendiest restaurants in NYC, but c’mon Jo, his ego makes Kanye West look like the Dalai Lama.

He’s the type of guy that only hears the word “no” when it’s followed by “don’t stop.”

Working for Dean Harper would be like selling my soul to the devil…and before you say anything, I don’t care if the devil has punch-you-in-the-gut brown eyes and an ass to match. My soul isn’t for sale.

Regretfully yours,

Lily

Review: Reborn Yesterday by Tessa Bailey

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Steam Level: 🔥🔥

Ginny Lynn is accustomed to death and dead bodies. She is a funeral home director/mortician, afterall. What she is not accustomed to is a dead body sitting up and opening his eyes just before she’s about to start the embalming process. And that’s exactly what Jonas Cantrell does. Humans aren’t supposed to know anything about Jonas, or any other vampire for that matter. But between trying to figure out this pull toward her and why another of his kind is trying to harm her, Jonas can’t stay away from Ginny. In his quest to protect her, we are introduced to his friends the cute and charismatic Tucker and the ever elusive and evasive, Elias. Throw in the sassy and hilarious vampire slayer, Roksana and this book is just steamy, fangy perfection!

Okay y’all. Confession time: I have not read a PNR or anything vampire related since Twilight. Crazy, I know. But I promise you, Jonas & Ginny are the new Edward & Bella and then some! I loved these vamps and this story a hundred times more than Twilight (and I was a Twi-HARD). I signed up for this arc on a whim and I’m so glad I did! Like I said before, Ginny is adorable and Jonas is E V E R Y T H I N G. They’re the epitome of Sunshine and Grumpy and Tessa writes those types of characters so well! I am SO PUMPED for the next story in this saga because Elias & Roksana were so fun to read and I can’t wait to see how much they can annoy each other before they inevitably tear each other’s clothes off.

Thanks so much to the author and Social Butterfly PR for the arc in exchange for my honest review. Reborn Yesterday is out today!

Review: The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare

Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Steam Level: 🔥🔥🔥

Excuse me but anybody want to explain to my dumb ass what took me so long to jump on the Historical Romance train? The fact that I just now met Ash and Emma is a real travesty and even though I just finished it I’m tempted to listen to it again right now because it’s THAT GOOD. The gist of the story is that Ash is a Duke and after being spurned by his fiancée he’s looking for someone to wife up. He was burned in the war and has lots of facial scaring, so he’s convinced that a marriage of convenience is the only arrangement in the cards for him. Emma is a dressmaker and even though the whole marrying a Duke and becoming a Duchess situation is a bit overwhelming, she finds herself falling for Ash’s boujee ass anyway.

Even if you’ve already read this one, you MUST check out the audio if you haven’t yet. It’s crazy good! The story itself is sort of a tale as old as time, but the characters are so fun and unique and wonderful. Emma is sassy and smart and vulnerable, yet strong and spirited. And Ash is honestly the most delightful asshole I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. He’s constantly doing THE MOST but in a fun and hilarious way. I truly can’t wait to read more HR and more Tessa Dare because holy cow, this was such a lovely breath of fresh air!

Review: Fresh Meet by Jasmin Miller

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75

I really liked almost everything about this book. I honestly think Emilia and Jace are my favorite couple Jasmine has ever written. They’re fun and playful and just make a really great team when it comes to taking care of little Tanner. They balance each other out and where one is weak, the other is strong. The dynamic between the two of them is great, but throw Tanner in the mix and it’s downright adorable. There was a pretty big issue at the end of the book that I just couldn’t get past. It’s hard to put into words without spoilers, but basically Jace royally effs up and I think Emilia forgave him far too soon. I love that Jasmin’s books are usually light and low on the angst, but it just didn’t seem realistic that Emilia could or should forgive him and move forward as quickly as she did. That being said, I would still definitely recommend this book because I know others won’t have the same issue as I did. It’s still a lovely read!

Thanks so much to Jasmin for the e-arc! Fresh Meet is out today!
