Review: Rowan Revived by Taylor Denae Colbert

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Steam Level: 🔥🔥🔥

TW: physical assault

Lena is on the road and on the run from her sister’s abusive husband. They pack up their lives and flee across the county to start over and stumble upon a former bed-and-breakfast that Lena can tell was quite something back in its day. The owner, Jesse is rude and surly, but Lena makes him an offer he can’t refuse: allow her and her sister and nephew to stay for free, and she will help him restore the The Rowan to its former glory so Jesse can put it on the market and get out of town. Sparks fly as they work together and just when Lena can start to see a future with Jesse, someone from her past shows up to remind her that The Rowan was just supposed to be a pit stop on their road to a new life. Not her destination.

Taylor is a new-to-me author and oh man, I am so glad she found me because I really enjoyed this book! It was the perfect mix of light and dark; romance with a bit of a thrill. The characters were likable (even when Jesse was being an ass) and Lena was a bad little biddy that took exactly zero shit. Jesse’s character arc was basically perfect because not only did we get to see him soften and come around to Lena, but is there anything cuter than a man that’s good with a kid? Yeah, no.

Can’t thank the author enough for the e-arc!So so excited to read more from you, Taylor! Rowan revived is available now on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.
