Review: Neat by Kandi Steiner

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Steam Level: 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Logan Becker’s life is organized and tidy and orderly. He sticks to a strict routine, cleans to help combat his anxiety, works hard, and loves his family. He is primed and ready for the promotion he’s rightfully earned at the whiskey distillery that’s been in his family for years. He’s got his eyes on that prize and little else. That is, until the princess of the distillery and daughter of the owner, Mallory Scooter crashes back into town and Logan’s life in one messy, angsty, and beautifully tattooed fell swoop. Their families have been at war for years, so it’s not hard for Logan and Mallory to fall into the easy act of hating each other on principle alone. But when they’re forced to work very closely together at the distillery, it doesn’t take long for them to figure out that their old family grudges can’t stand in the way of their instant attraction and blossoming friendship. The real question is: does a universe exist where a Becker and a Scooter could be together? No. So they’ll just have to make one.

So I’m not sure how, but this was my very first book by Kandi. It seems crazy because I’m always drawn to her books with their gorgeous covers, and she’s all over my little bookworm radar. So when I stumbled upon the opportunity to sign up for an arc of her newest book in the Becker Brother Series, I knew I had to take it. And y’all, I am SO GLAD I DID. Enemies to lovers and small town romances are two of my favorite things. And we all know this queen loves a drink 🥃 This is basically the perfect book for me! I was hooked on Logan & Mallory’s story from the very beginning and it’s obvious now that I’m going to have to go back and read Noah & Ruby Grace’s story, On the Rocks. And also every other book that Kandi has ever written. I loved the ride or die mentality of The Beckers and booed and scoffed at the Scooters and their toxic masculinity BS. I love that Kandi shifted away from the normal stereotypes with Logan and Mallory, instead offering a unique role reversal of the male struggling with anxiety and thriving on organization, while the female was the messy, yet overly confident one. But the best part? Miss Thang can write a damn love scene! So steamy, so perfect 🥵👌🏻🔥 I truly cannot wait to read more from this author.
