Review: The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo

Genre: Fiction

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“People think that intimacy is about sex. But intimacy is about truth. When you realize you can tell someone your truth, when you can show yourself to them, when you stand in front of them bare and their response is ‘you’re safe with me’- that’s intimacy.”

I know I’m probably one of the last book bloggers to read this gem, but I’m so glad I finally did. The audiobook, beautifully narrated by Robin Miles, Alma Cuervo, and Julia Whelan, pulled me in from the beginning. I was swept away to the dazzling old Hollywood of the fifties and sixties, then pulled right back to modern day every time the story started getting really juicy. Evelyn is a character most will love to hate, but I mostly just loved her. This book truly moved me, spoke to my soul, and will be at the top of my recommendation list from now on.

This is perfect for reality television fans, old Hollywood movie buffs, and even the pickiest bookworm will find something they love and can relate to in this book. If you’ve been dragging your feet on this one, quit it. Read it now!

I think the main reason why I loved Evelyn so much is because she’s kind of the ultimate Queen Bee. She’s brash and unapologetic and definitely did some unsavory things in her lifetime, but she is also fiercely loyal and smart and funny. Put it all together and you’ve got one badass book heroine.

SO! QOTD: who are some of your favorite badass book bitches? Evelyn Hugo is definitely at the top of my list! 💚🖤
