Review: Tangle (Dogwood Lane #2) by Adriana Locke

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Steam Level: 🔥🔥

We head back to Dogwood Lane for the second book in this stand-alone contemporary romance series. Dane, Neely, Penn, and the whole gang are back, but this time the story centers around Dane’s cousin, Haley and the super dreamy, new guy in town, Trevor (yum).

Haley always falls too hard, too fast so she’s swearing off guys for awhile. Trevor is more of a love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy. Not because he’s a jerk, he’s just cynic who doesn’t believe in long term commitment and knows when a relationship has run its course. They agree to spend time together, but only after they both sign a “no falling in love” contract. I mean, it was on a napkin so, binding. It doesn’t take long for them both to see this is not going to end well. They just have to decide if it’s worth the risk to get tangled up in whatever it is that’s happening between the two of them.

This was a super cute, fun, and quick read that’s perfect for summer! I have read several of Adriana Locke’s books and I’ve yet to come across one I didn’t like. Her writing is so intentional, funny, and heartfelt. I loved Trevor & Haley from the very start. I mean, she reels ya in with a donut related incident within the first few pages, so if you’re anything like me, you’ll be able to immediately relate to Haley on a deep and spiritual level. The characters are so likable and relatable, which is why I always enjoy these type of small town romances.

Thank you to netgalley, Montlake Romance, and Adriana Locke for the e-arc. Tangle comes out July 2nd, but if you can’t wait that long, check out the first in this series, Tumble (review posted on my IG) to hold ya over and introduce you to the Dogwood Lane gang!
